Need help with the cab
The cab on my 66 sits about an inch higher on the passenger side. I pulled the passenger side mounts off and with part of the cab touching the frame it is about level. All but one of the mounts appear to be original. Anyone know what would cause this?

Re: Need help with the cab
1st thing is get the frame level and on a level surface , then start taking measurements and see where the issue is. Could be simple and could be no fun at all!!
Good luck!

Re: Need help with the cab
It sounds like a body mount is rusted and collapsed on the drivers side. It could be on either the frame or cab.

Re: Need help with the cab
How do the rubber mounts look? I know on my 63 the bushings were smashed, then a spacer added, then another, and boom level cab.

Re: Need help with the cab
Thanks for the replies.
Captainfab: There is some rust near the rear body mount, but from what I can tell it does not appear to have colapsed. I have not checked the center mount but I think it is solid. It will be a few days before I am able check for sure. Iplay4keepz: One of the mounts was replaced at some point, but all the original ones look smashed. I had thought of adding spacers. Do you guys think it would work if instead of adding spacers to the low side I could make a smaller mount for the high side? |

Re: Need help with the cab
The sky is the limit on sone thing like that so yeah, you could definitely fab up two different size mounts. I think I've got dimensons somewhere for the mounts I fabbed up they're for converting from a c20 to c10 style mount though. I would probably do as much measuring as possible like clyde65 said, just to make sure that would cure your problem. Seems like a lot of work though imo.

Re: Need help with the cab
It will be a lot of work but I want the truck as low as possible and an inch makes a difference. I have been making lots of measurements and plan on making more before deciding what to do. I want to do things right, but this not a show truck, just a cool daily driver.

Re: Need help with the cab
I do but I am not sure how to post them. I tried using a photo sharing site at one point, but the pics would not show here.
