Me and my 1998 ZR2 aka STEN.
Little background on me, before i tell our story. First, im a 17 year old, whose basically on my own for the last 3 years almost, and i hunt, fish, ride fourwheelers, and do a bunch of stuff that needs a truck. Well i cant afford a fullsize so i start looking at the "mini" trucks. S10's................................ just turned 16 at this time. Time to find a truck. So im on fb just scrolling. i see one. 1998 S10 Zr2 221xxx miles 300 OBO. go look at it and it runs just crappy and dies after 10 minutes each time. Give the man his cash and load her up and home bound. drop it off at a buddies house. a fuel pump, maf sensor, and a temp sensor and she runs like new. So i drive it and one problem. RUST. so i fix it slowly, and drive the heck outa her. Summer break. hangin with the buds and drivin her around. Fast forward to now and shes running better than ever. brand new front end and more. For a teen needing a 4x4 i HIGHLY recomend this truck. will get pics soon.. Thought yall would enjoy the story of STEN and I.

Re: Me and my 1998 ZR2 aka STEN.
back in 2006 I got tired of spending almost $400/month so the wife could drive 3000 miles a year. I sold the minivan and bought a 96 Blazer for $750. Swapped out the engine (it came with another good one since original had coolant in oil). Then fixed original engine and sold that for $500. Wife drove that for 4 years and we got $3500 trade in on a 99 Tahoe.
Two years ago i damn near bought a 2002 Blazer from a friend for $1500. I rather like these things. It's just not the easiest truck to work on. They're really quite capable and rather dependable once you address the normal issues.
