When I stomp the accelerator my truck dies. Edelbrock Carb. It idles fine.
Ok guys. My truck idles well after it is warmed up. I can accelerate gradually just fine. However, when I'm at a dead stop and I aggressively stomp the accelerator the motor tries to die like it's bogging down. I have a 600 cfm Edelbrock carb. I have not adjusted the lean/rich screws. Any suggestions on what I should try first?

Look in the carb and stroke the throttle. You should see two strong spurts of fuel. If not, then your accelerator pump isn't working.

How's your timing ? If it is not advanced enough, then you can get that kind of response, too. The accelerator pump is a good call, too.

I replaced the accelerator pump! Bingo! I'm spinning tires for days now. No bog! Thanks guys!
