Back-up Lights
I've seen comments saying that the SM420 did not get the switch for backup lights until 67.
My 66 has factory backup lights on it so maybe this info is wrong or mine was produced very close to 66 year end. Also noted the transmission is a good one for the year some say the SM is Saginaw Muncie some say it stands for Syncro Mesh all the stories the internet tells. |

Re: Back-up Lights
1966 was the first year that backup lights were required on all vehicles. The SM420 did have a backup light switch in '66.

Re: Back-up Lights
Thank you for the reply good to know I won't have to modify anything to make them work. It appears that sm420 is a good unit as well so it will stay where it is.
