License Lamp Lens

Hello all,

I had a step bumper that had the dual license plate lights, I switched to a regular bumper that only requires one light. how do i go about wiring it?

Re: License Lamp Lens

If I remember correctly, the factory optional step bumpers had a Y harness that plugged into the licence lamp feed wire on the truck and branched off to the 2 lights on the bumper. So you should be able to simply unplug that Y harness and plug the single lamp connector in it's place.

However, if the step bumper was aftermarket and/or previous owners have made changes to the wiring, it might not be a simple plug-in swap anymore. But you should still be able to trace the wires back and eventually get to a single wire (brown is the factory color I believe) that you can connect to for your new lamp.
