Cutting the frame
How hard is it to cut a hole in a crossmember. I want to run my exhaust through a rear crossmember and I was wondering if a hole saw would work. How hard is the frame. Anybody ever done this without a torch.

The frame is somewhat hardened but not near the harness of the new ones. You can drill it, cut it with a hack saw, power saw or torch pretty easy. Just minimize the size of the hole to retain some degree of frame stiffness as our frames are relatively weak with few strong crossmembers.
