I have a new gm tailgate bezel for sale. It is Nos but I can't locate the Box. Part Numbers are casted into the back side. I added a tailgate lock to my original on my build and am going to re chrome it and won't need this one anymore. Asking $65.00 shipped.

How are you installing a lock on your tailgate?

Someone stole my tailgate and I want to prevent that in the future.

This is what I did. I got this lock in some parts I found. When you turn it down you can't operate the handle.

That is an excellent idea and looks like it could be original.
The lock you used looks similar to the lock on my tool box.
I'll have to check out lock smith shops and hardware stores to see what I can find that will work.
I am planning to install a switch in the frame around the tailgate to set off a remote alarm should someone open the tailgate. Still working out how to keep the alarm going until I remotely disarm it.
