2wd 72 "Betty"
Morning!
I have lurked the forum for several years with a few question/replies here and there. I've mainly owned squarebody k5s since those were easier to get a hold of but my bucket list vehicle has always been 70-72 2wd k5. Well a few weeks back I went to the Lone Star Park Swapmeet and spotted this k5 in the parking lot and one in the swap/sale lots. Well I posted on Facebook with deals and vehicles I spotted at the meet and a friend tagged the owner of the k5. A week of sweet talking the owner he finally threw out a price and I was on my merry way to go collect it. Enough with the boredom, lets get to the picture. Plans for now is to fix any issues that may come up(already had to fix the rear end a week into ownership).

Re: 2wd 72 "Betty"
After 2 weeks of staring at all the different colors I couldn't stand it anymore so I hit my friend up and discussed vinyl wrapping the blazer with its bumps and waves and crappy paint. He informed me it could be done but the issues would show up through the vinyl. He shot over a link with 3M 1080 color chart so I could make my choice. I ended up picking Liquid Copper. Enough reading, here's a few pictures

Re: 2wd 72 "Betty"
Nice, I like the color and the steelies. I have thought about vinyl wrap below the body line on my blazer but don't really know much about it.
Looks like a keeper to me, Rg

Re: 2wd 72 "Betty"
Looks great to me - considered doing the same on my 4x4 project - need to fix a few more things first before I get there.

Re: 2wd 72 "Betty"
I found a letting kit on Ebay, definitely makes the tailgate.
Got around to throwing on the grille trim I picked up from Southwest Classics and did some practicing with taking in the dark aka "light painting". Also purchased and installed an A/C and heat delete plates as the hvac stuff was all broken and missing several parts.

Re: 2wd 72 "Betty"
Just depends on location and if you want door jambs done. I passed on the door jambs as this is just "temporary" for me while I get other things fixed up.

Re: 2wd 72 "Betty"
That looks really good! I'm surprised at how well the wrap seems to have formed over the bumps/dents and the tailgate lettering.

Re: 2wd 72 "Betty"
No real updates on the Blazer. I was mad at it for a while and it was on the market. Well while I had it listed I guess it decided to be stubborn and one fine morning driving to work it decided to puke, come to find out it was thirsty and drank its oil down.
A week or two after it just there I called my buddy over and we yanked the motor and trans out and he took it home. I had been searching everywhere for a good deal on a "ls" motor when a good deal on wheels came about. The wheels are American Racing Daytonas 22x11 and 20x?(forgot). Here is a picture or two testing them out. Needless to say they rub out back and will need spacers to fit well. At this point I had a decent looking roller and no motor or trans in my possession.

Re: 2wd 72 "Betty"
Just this week I picked up a complete 5.3/4l60 with all the parts I need from a wrecked 2004 Tahoe. I cant get the picture to upload to the gallery to share here so your imagination will work best.
*imagine a junky motor and trans* Today while roaming the board and watching instagram videos of some nice and low Blazers I told myself I need to replace awhat the PO did(not even sure what he did) and go lower. I bought some 6 inch drop springs for the rear and a Dead End Garage cnotch kit. Now I need to figure out what to do with the front for suspension. Here is a picture that DeadEnd Garage has on their IG page. I purchased everything pictured and the LS pedal bracket for the swap.
