How difficult is this?

I was wondering from people out there who have converted from manual steering to power steering how hard is the conversion. My 72 blazer is hard to steer from a stop with those 33" tires and I was wondering if adding power steering would be a real diffcult task. Also do they sell a conversion kit that makes this process easier then locating indivdual parts?

Thanks, Rick

Not all trucks after 71 came with power steering.

Your best bet is to find a complete donor. Anything before 80 or 81 is best. Make sure you grab all pulleys and accessory brackets too. If it's a 73-up donor, you'll have to change the water pump over to the long waterpump to make everything work. If it's a 69-72 donor, you only need the pump/brackets and the lower crank pulleys.

FYI, 4x4 and 2wd PS boxes are not interchangeable but the pulleys, pumps, and accessory brackets are.
