Converting 70 Blazer to front disc

Need 71 or 72 hub assembly. I have hubs that I was told were from a 72, so I ordered rotors and calipers. The rotors I have don't mate with the hubs, which are too big for the rotors. I'm looking for hub assembly, or a place to buy a 70 conversion kit with drilled, slotted rotors, and wilwood calipers.

I've been searching for the same thing. Seems the easiest way is to just find a 71/72 k5/10 axle and swap it in.

Stock 1970 axle and hubs, with late model rotors and dual piston calipers. If you're a bit handy, it's an easy conversion and you'll have superior brakes over the early 70's style.

Here are the hubs I have, I will remove the other rotor to ship. If I remember correctly they will fit in a medium flat rate but would need to check again. 50 plus shipping a set, I have 2 sets.

You'll need a lot more than just the hubs !!

You will be further ahead buying a complete front axle and swapping parts from it.

I just did this conversion on my '70 Jimmy a couple of months ago and ran into all kinds of problems. In short, I ended up getting new upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer wheel bearings, seals, hubs/rotors, calipers, brake lines, outer axle shafts, inner axle shafts (because the new ones had different size u-joint holes). It seemed nothing would work together, i had a hard time getting things to work together. U-joints didn't fit both shafts, brake line fittings was different and I had a hard time getting the right adapters... I still have part numbers and websites for companies I found helpfull. I might have to stop by and get a closer look at how you did this when I begin my disc brake swap on my 69.

HEMI43 has an awesome fix. I would really look at his setup.

Ok, I just went through a rebuild of a dana 44, I had to replace the spindle and outer axle shaft. Looks like it was in an accident, the bottom of the rotor was ground flat. Also, lol - the PO ground off the end of the axle shaft. I think it was because they could not figure out how to get the snap ring off.

Anyways, I did some wrecking yard searching for my parts, it is my understanding that you will need everything from the knuckles out, (including knuckles)... Good news is that the knuckles and everything else is interchangeable between the Dana and 10 bolt. This gives you a fair amount of options to choose from at the wrecking yard. Here is a list I found during my adventure that laid out axle lengths. I just read on another forum that the outer axle shafts between 10 bolt and dana 44 are the same, but the inner axles are different... I am not sure about this. Might be worth your time to go to a Pick-N-Pull.
