68 CST Buddy Bucket Covers

Does anybody know of somebody with correct reproduction Buddy Bucket covers (Red) for my 68 CST seat. The only covers I've seen have wide stitched pleats not the correct dielectric 1" or so pleats in the inserts.
Any info would be appreciated.

Re: 68 CST Buddy Bucket Covers

I had sms in Oregon make me a set. They have the correct materials and heat pleated the material. It is an exact match to original. Pricey though and the wait sucks but seems everyone has everyone waiting these days for quality products.

What did it cost to get them done if you don't mind me asking?

Re: 68 CST Buddy Bucket Covers

I can't remember exactly but I had my whole interior done exactly to factory except the power window switches in the door panels. I think it was 4 grand plus tax and shipping including the seat belt material. They only supplied the material for the seat belts. I had them sewn by another vendor. It took 3 years to complete all of the work being I wanted them heat pressed like factory and they needed to make moulds. They have the moulds now. They also sent me an extra headliner by mistake. I am super happy with their products but their service was trying at times. They also supplied me with a roll of red carpet that matched the original to make the carpet from that was included in this price.

Re: 68 CST Buddy Bucket Covers

I used PUI brand bought through Summit for a great price. Had an issue with the covers and called PUI. They were less than civil with me on the phone. In fact what the guy said was " I wish you do-it-yourselfers would leave this to the professionals" along with a few curse words. My take was without the do-it-yourselfers you would not have a job. Ended up taking the covers to a local upholstery shop to add more material so they would fit right. Last time I support their product. This was my personal dealings with the PUI brand your mileage my differ.

But, does PUI make the Buddy Bucket Covers with the correct insert pleats. All the covers I’ve seen have wider stitched pleats.

I don’t know. The wide pleats are correct for Chevy, you must have a GMC.

I’ve had a lot of buddy seats and they have all had the wide pleats. I’ve not seen very many with narrow pleats and always thought they were gmc. Oh well, I guess not

My interior is identical to the 2 previous posts by chewychevy67.
Narrow pleats, heat sealed, red with darker red inserts.
My truck is orig Red paint and Red interior. The door panels have the wider pleats as shown in chewychevy67s posts.
