Electric fan thermostat temperature sensor switch

My son has a 69 C10 with a electric fan. He mounted the temperature sensor switch on the passenger side of the block. Today he noticed that the wire to the sensor switch is fried. Due to the wire hitting the headers. Is there another location he can move the sensor switch to? So he wont have this happen to him again. Can the sensor switch be moved to the housing for the thermostat?
Looking for suggestions.

Thanks,
Ramiro

He can put the the sensor in the radiator if it has a boss for it.

Re: Electric fan thermostat temperature sensor switch

If a V8 there is a hole/plug on the outer left side of each head and depending on the intake manifold there maybe a hole/plug on the crossover to the thermostat. Speaking of thermostats there are thermostat housings with a hole/plug built in as well.

Re: Electric fan thermostat temperature sensor switch

Thank you all for chiming in. Look like we install it in the intake. Thanks again.
