Wrapped my truck around a tree today...damn it!
First post in a while!
Bad ice on the roads this afternoon, real bad. Hit this patch and lost absolutely all steering, just drifted off with the crown of the road. Slid off and hit a tree. Wasn't even wearing my seatbelt, lol. Wasn't hurt, but it was a pretty good hit. I think the frame and driveline is fine, hopefully I'll be able to get it pulled out and drive it back when everything thaws out (with some minor roadside tinkering). Cab is at least kind of messed up, though. Sucks. Just more stuff to fix, I guess. A cop gave me a ride to somewhere and had to make multiple attempts to get started up the slight hill. Then got sideways and almost crashed like I did three times in about two miles. Real icy! Bad end to another bad week. Hopefully I won't have too much to fix. |

At least I can personally attest to the crash-worthiness of the 4-5-6 series now...

Damn brother, sad to see the rig like that, but I'm glad you're safe. I'll have a beer for your rig tonight. Bring her back stronger now!

Dammit man!
Let me know if you need inner fenders for the repair... I don’t have anything else right now, but there’s always guys with it at the swap meet.

as bad as it looks, at least the tree stop the truck from going further down the hill.

Re: Wrapped my truck around a tree today...damn it!
Glad you are OK. Do you think it can be fixed?
Most of the old stuff can take a hit and still be straightened out. Now days it seems like a new car gets totaled if it got hit by a shopping cart. |

The important thing is that you are OK. The truck can be fixed. Good luck with it, and for what it's worth, hope you have a better holiday with your family!

Re: Wrapped my truck around a tree today...damn it!
Dayyum! Good to hear you're not really hurt! From the looks of things, it could have been much worse. I hope the truck isn't badly damaged.

And here I thought it didn't snow in Jaw-juh. Sickening sight. Glad you're okay though. Hopefully the damage is just sheet metal.

Re: Wrapped my truck around a tree today...damn it!
Thanks, guys.
Went to survey the damage today...pretty bad. Still ran, though. Going to get a rollback out and go from there. I posted some pics in my "build thread". |

Fwiw, it was supposed to be a half-inch of snow...they are calling it eleven inches now.
