Need some help guys with my master cylinder/ brake booster

I just recently purchased this C10 The master cylinder keeps leaking out of the top. I put a new rubber gasket on it but still persists so I suspect it is because of the sealing edge is a little pitted so i think I am just going to purchase a new master cylinder , but i am curious if the orientation of the master cylinder and brake booster are correct as it looks to be angled down in front/ is this correct? Can the booster and master cylinder be replaced with a unit that does not stick out so far and possibly a smaller booster? Thank You for your advice /suggestions.

had exactly the same problem with a Camaro. It was the lid. Switched it out with another one and problem solved.
