72 Super in the garage finally

I posted about the chance to pick this one up last week and I was lucky enough to close the deal on it. I know a bunch of the Die Hard's will gripe because someone ripped the sheet out of the glove box but it's the real thing to me. It's in good shape for a 45 year old truck, much better that the stepper I bought a couple years ago and about the same price, I got a great deal. It has had a 454 installed in it several years back and I also got a new built 454 in the package deal along with a motor stand, cherry picker and 3 crates of extra parts and pieces. I was not crazy about the interior but it's growing on me. The passenger side fender and grill are damaged but it came with a replacement bumper. The brake booster needs replacing and the power steering pump is shot but we should be back on the road by Saturday. We got the beast of an engine fired up Saturday evening and it's smooth as silk. We took it for a few miles but I decided to wait and get the power stuff up to par before we do a lot of traveling in it.

This was my dream truck and it's finally parked in my shop... My divorce present to myself

Nice truck! If the spid sticker is all that important, you can have one made with whatever options you want. www.outintheshop.com, Jeff makes exact replications.

It doesn't bother me, I just know some people are sticklers.

Re: 72 Super in the garage finally

Very nice.....good find.
Without prodding or prying....did you go north of $10K on the price? or were you able to get it south of $10k?
Not any of my business...just keeping track of pricing out there.
SWB/big block air trucks can bring a lot of money it seems....

All good

Re: 72 Super in the garage finally

My present to my self was (still got it, mind you, have not re-married...LOL) is a 67 C10, LWB no engine, no trans. Has some fairly straight metal on it. Had a glide and I think a 283. Best part is that it's a factory AC pickup. Supposed to somewhat unusual in 67. Have not done enough to it...yet...

Nice truck and dont worry about the spid.. If you want to change up the bucket seat covers here is the place to get original material.

https://www.smsautofabrics.com

Also board member truck seats can help you out as well.

Thanks. Yes agree, great guy to work with - have purchased several items other than SPIDs from him. Is the website down? I can’t reach it via computer or phone.

Cool truck. IMO, it's a little too "pimp" as is. It needs some new shoes and I would paint the red interior metal white to mach the exterior, die the white seat covers dash pad and door panels red. Red visors as well.

I love the idea of a divorce present to yourself. 12 years ago, mine was a Corvette. Looks like a nice truck, so congrats!
