i have a 600cfm edlebrock performer carb with electric choke and the damn thing idles so high that i spin the tires everytime i put it into gear until the choke lets go, this is especially bad when im on a gravel road and i sit there and power stall

does anyone know how to adjust the choke on this????

Is there a black canister on the left side of the carb (when looking from the front of the truck toward the back)? If there is, there should be three screws holding it on. Loosen the screws and rotate the canister, not sure which way. If you look on the canister, it should say Rich and Lean with arrows pointing oppisite directions. Rotate it toward the lean side. This will let the choke open sooner. Hope this helps some.

yea i didnt notice it at first but it was on the 4th line on the rich side and i moved it all the way back to 2 on the lean side. how is my truck gona act in the morning?

Here is what you need to do:

Start the truck up in the morning when it is cold, pop the hood, and loosen the 3 screws that hold down the black plastic electric choke adjsutment. When the engine reaches the temp that you want the choke to come off at (say....140?), turn the choke adjustment to the rich position until the choke flap on the carb starts to close...then move it back 1 mark lean, tighten it down, and you will be good to go

so did mine, but there is also a screw underneath the choke on my q-jet, that i adjusted that brought down the high idle.
