Just replaced front rubber brake lines and what a pain.
I have a 85 1500 GMC that is giving me some brake problems.I just got through changing the 2 front brake hoses.I thought it would be a hour job and what a pain.
Trying to get to the nut on the inside of the frame was inpossible.I ended up taking a cut off tool to the line on the outside of the rail. Then taking a punch and knocking what was left towards inside and then unscrewing metal brake line from inside. What a pain!! |

Re: Just replaced front rubber brake lines and what a pain.
How was your front cross-over steel line? I did the front rubber hoses, calipers, rear rubber hose, and wheel cylinders on my wife's 76 when I got it running. It had been siting for several years. A week or two later, the truck started jerking hard to the right when braking. I wish I would have did the hard lines at the same time. Would have saved me some work...
