Looks like a neat concept.
Wonder why it never caught on? First I've heard of it.

Re: CL find someone might be interested in, power rear window
You loose most of the storage behind the seat is the reason I can see. And I know in the early 90s power sliders came out we had a 91 f350 with a power middle window and there were decals dating the install right after the truck was purchased

Re: CL find someone might be interested in, power rear window
I've only seen one truck with that installed. It was this year and was the first time I've ever heard of it. The guy said he searched for one for years before finally finding one. I guess they are as rare as hens teeth. It was pretty cool, and would be nice on hot days, but I don't know if I would ever install one one my trucks.

Re: CL find someone might be interested in, power rear window
saw a toyota ext cab 80's vintage years ago with one .
super cool look and function . but the ext cab section lost a LOT of room almost made it a std cab truck . i would love to have one on maybe a crew cab the back seat dont get used on much . but a std cab is a waste of space i think .

Re: CL find someone might be interested in, power rear window
Bought one new in 86 and had in my then 86 for a few years it used a gm power window motor which pushed and pulled plastic straps with holes in them which pushed and pulled to raise and lower the window. Worked great for a few years but then the plastic straps started stripping out. Cool while it lasted. Cost new back then 350.00 bucks

Re: CL find someone might be interested in, power rear window
I texted the guy and he couldn't tell me the condition and he said he had never seen it function himself.
He said it had been sitting in storage for many years. I told him good luck with the sale.

I gotbthe power skider from a member here on the board-new in the box. I havent installed it yet-but it'll have auto open/close and I'm using a stock type power window switch mounted on the console lid.

Re: CL find someone might be interested in, power rear window
I have one in my plow truck in Alaska and really like it. The lower frame needed a littlle extra support behind the seat but work great. Activated by a factory looking rocker switch near fuel tank switch loaction. Can't really see much in these pics if you cant zoom in. Take care

Re: CL find someone might be interested in, power rear window
These were made by CR Laurence. They still make a power slider for square bodies but it is just the center like the normal sliding window
