one more time brake experts....
I am using later 1 1/4" rotors on '71-72 spindles. I bought loaded calipers for a '71 and max opening w/ pads is 1 1/8" what is the solution here...later calipers? 70 c10 BTW.

Sounds like you know the A to the Q already. The new calipers are only $10 a piece from the local parts house here, so figure Cali. prices and your looking at $200 a piece. lol

In the later 70's/early 80's, there were 1" thick rotors. If you are sure that the pistons are all the way back in the calipers, my guess is that you have the wrong parts(that puter screws those parts guys up at times!). Good luck, crazyL

i have not run into that "mismatch" of parts, so I cant say for sure if the calipers will bolt(they do list 2 different spindles....1" rotor, or 1 1/4" rotor on the later trucks). The 71-72 however should only be 1 1/4" thick rotors. crazyL
