what would you do?
Ok, some of you have seen pictures of my truck, some of you may not have, anyway, i've got a
79 silverado, 327, th350, chrome engine dress up kit, front roll pan, shaved tails, rear pan w/ vette lights, harwood fiberglass cowl hood, dropped 4/4, flip kit not installed, tube grill, eagle alloy rims, aftermarket seats, fiberglass bed cover, kenwood cd player, flowmaster mufflers dumped before rear end and i've always wanted a 70-73 camaro, split bumper, or no split bumper.. anyways, i ran across a good looking (from what i seen in pics) 72 Camaro with a 350, runs and drives great.. if i had the money and it were my choice, i'd buy the camaro, and keep the truck too but, I've decided to trade.. from what you know ...am i gettin totally hosed in this deal? |

It's hard to say cuz you've provided no info on the cam except it's a '72 with a 350 and maybe you dont know but................
How many mile's r on it? Is it the original eng.& trany? Has it been recked? Does it have rust on the AFT 1/4's and floor board's? But form what i see it looks good on one side anyway's. But if you think it's a good solid car and it's mechanically sound go for it. And if you think you can live with a car instead of a truck then go for it. If it means any thing to you i like the '70.5 LT1 full front bumper Cam the best. |

it looks like the camaro may have had a cheap repaint and could possibly be hinding alot of bondo. i woud have a REAL good look over every nook and cranny in the car and also go over all the 1/4 and rocker areas w/ a magnet to try and find any hidden body filler.

Here is a good trick I`ve used alot, Get a fridge magnet ( flexable mat ones businesses advertise on) put a sheet of paper on the panel put the cheap magnet ontop of that and drag the paper across the panel if it falls off it`s full of bog ( body filler) but you probably know that. Remember body fillers are like ice berges you only see the small bit the big bit is hiding underneath waiting to rip a hole in your wallet.

Why don't you suggest swapping for a couple of hours to see how you like it? That way you can check it out.

Personally I would keep the truck. If you do decide to trade I would check out the car very good before I did it. A freind of mine bought one of these when I was in school, wow what a long time ago, and found out that the frame was rusting into by the back axel, I guess after talking to people he found that they were good for that in that time era. Good luck with your decision.

Keep the truck. You know you will miss it as soon as you swap. Something doesn't sound right on that camaro. Those are more sought after than our trucks. I would pass and keep the truck since you know what's been put in it- your blood sweat and tears.

another though, i dont claim to be a cam guru, but i would think that the parts would harder to find. i know ive only seen maybe 3 of those in the last 6 months that were driving. please keep us posted. maybe youll win the lotto and buy the car outright

Hmmm? Is it a truck? No it's not. I would have to pass, but that's because I am N-2-TRUX....:p

It looks like you have a very nice truck...i agree with these guys, search every inch of that car for shoddy bodywork and bondo with a magnet. Check underneath it too...make sure the floors are nice and sold. Also, remember that it is going to cost more to insure the 'maro.
Good luck!

We`re all thinking the same thing i think. Keep the truck because you might need it to tow the camaro to the work shop. Some times it`s better to stick with the devil you know.
