Small block vs L6 manual trans crossmember

I picked up a small block 350 last week and decided to use it in a 67 short bed frame I have that came with a 250 L6 and 3OTT . Instead of using the L6 mounts I found the small block cross member that mounts further forward in the frame for the V8 in the stock location and still use the 67 stock bell housing .Here are a couple pics of the V8 vs L6 manual trans cross members . the leading edge of the L6 cross member measures 9" the V8 leading edge measures 10"

Re: Small block vs L6 manual trans crossmember

Thanks , That helps explain the differences in mounting position a lot ,The V8 cross member has a bit more structure to it over the L6 also . Along with the mentioned small amount of twist .
