Seven gauge upgrade
I have a 68 C10 with the basic speedo/gas/idiot light cluster and want to install a used full gauge instrument cluster that i bought.
Can I use my current wiring harness that plugs into my basic cluster or do I have to change or modify my wiring harness? I realize that I have to run an oil line to the engine for the oil pressure gauge. What do I have to do about the ammeter and water temp for their signals? I've ordered a new bezel,5000 RPM tach, lens with tach and vacuum and a printed circuit w/tach that I plan on using in my truck. I still need to find a vacuum gauge that is in my budget. I look forward to enjoying these upgrades to my C10. |

Re: Seven gauge upgrade
you need to change the wiring in the harness plug to the instrument cluster. Do NOT plug a gauge cluster into an unmodified idoit light harness (or vice versa) WITHOUT changing some of the connections around, you will damage something (maybe the fuel gauge).
