Re: 1969 disc brake swap

I just took a 1969 1/2 ton apart and put my 1971 spindles on an put new ball joints in and upper and lower bushing and it bolted right up.I never could under stand why people swap out the whole front end.

I just bought some CCP spindles for my 1968 longhorn asked the guys at CCP if they make a 1/2 ton spindle that could use the 3/4 ton ball joint they said yes they do.CCP said if they did not you could put a reamer in there and make it work for the 3/4 in Ball joint.Never could under stand why mess with your front A frame just to get front disc brakes.

You know my ex boss use to Race Baha 1000 in a 1979 chevy truck he used Race 3/4 or 1 ton front upper and lower ball joints cus they can take the punish ment.never have to worry about busting a 3/4 inch ball joint in a 1/2 ton truck.Only way is have a front end collision. You will never brake a 3/4 or 1 ton ball joint in a 1/2 ton set up
