81-87 camper mirrors

I am wanting to put a set of known factory original camper/towing mirrors on my 83 square body. Does anyone have a set that is already mounted on their truck? If so would like to see some pics. Thanks.

Do you know if those mirrors are on the SPID and if they are original to the truck? I know sometimes they get changed over the years. Thanks.

Re: 81-87 camper mirrors

I pulled some that are a little different style from an 86 c30.

Re: 81-87 camper mirrors

@oldwagon
These are the same type of mirrors that came on my truck from the factory.
Yes, my truck has these mirrors specified on the SPI Decal.
My truck is a camper special.
A PO changed the mirrors to the typical rounded type, I put the camper mirrors back on the other day.
I found these mirrors at the salvage yard.
One was on a 1978 and the other on a 1982.
They are identical to each other and fit perfectly into the 5 factory threaded holes in the doors.

These are the ones I was talking about and absolutely factory. Had correct date codes too.

This is not my picture or my truck, but my 78 is a camper special and it has these same mirrors.

Re: 81-87 camper mirrors

Thanks for all the pics. As my truck does not have the SPID in the glove box, guess I'm going to go with whichever set fits best and that I like.

Re: 81-87 camper mirrors

@oldwagon
Are there holes and threaded inserts already in your doors?
If not, maybe pull the door panel and look inside for any evidence of mirror holes that were filled.
I'm assuming you want to go original with your truck, so it might be worth the effort.

Re: 81-87 camper mirrors

I had the doors changed out a few years ago so they are not the originals. Looks like they originally had the "dumbo" mirrors on them. I will go back with some better doors eventually. Just wanting to put a set of original mirrors on them if I have them.
