Are you taking them with a camera or a phone?

Re: Posting Pics Problem

What I do is simply use my favorite windows PC picture viewing software ( whether that's a microsoft viewer or some third party viewer ) and open the image to view it. Once I have the image in front of me in the correct orientation ( usually it opens correct, but if not, I rotate it to the proper orientation using the viewer ), I then click File, Save and just save it right backk down to where I opened it up from.

After that, I post it and it always ends up in the correct orientation on this site.

There is a free picture editing software called "Irfanview". It has been around forever and it works really well. I have used it off and on since the mid '90's

It is my favorite. Light weight and very easy to use!

-- space bar to move to next image
-- back space key to go back to previous image
-- 'r' key to rotate clock-wise
-- 'l' key to rotate counter-clock-wise
-- enter key to go full screen
-- esc key to exit full screen

Resizing is easy too. When you have a picture up just click on the word "Image" in the menu bar, then choose "Resize/Resample Image". The box below will come up and all you have to do is change the "Width" value in the window on the left to 1100 or 1150 and click on "OK" at the bottom. One of those sizes is pretty much ideal for most monitors, and the software here on the board will resize pictures from there, to what is required for display in the threads on here.
