Project Forever Young
New to the forum, so thank you for all of the useful information! I'll likely create a build thread for this. Yesterday I picked up a 1967 big window GMC swb (has a chevy grille) for a really good price. The only rust is in the floor board, which I'm now used to fixing, thanks the amount of surgery my 70 K5 needed. I plan on LS swapping the 305 that is in it now, converting it to 5 lug discs, and possibly air ride or at least coil-overs.
I'm seeking recommendations on the following: LM7 vs LQ9 vs ??? Air ride kits 5 lug swap anything else I'll need to learn along the way. ...and remember, I'm still wet behind the ears. Thanks in advance, Rick |

Re: Project Forever Young
Welcome to the forum!....that looks like a great project and you will get some excellent insight and advice here from many of the guys who have tackled some of what you intent.
That is an interesting spid....particularly the axle ratio...3:54 and some of the other listed at the beginning. I don't think I've ever seen that 3.54 in a 1/2 ton before. Again welcome! Coley

Re: Project Forever Young
Put the right air cleaner on it, a fan shroud, lose the glass fuel filter and run that small block. Just my opinion.

Re: Project Forever Young
3.54 shows it has a Dana 44 which it looks like I can make out on the SPID. I've looked at only a few '67 GMC 1/2 tonners but it seems most had the Dana axle.
Cool project.

Re: Project Forever Young
I just got a deal on a 5.3 from an ‘07 Tahoe with 80k miles. I’m thinking about T56. Has anyone used a t56 with a 5.3?
