60-66 GMC Trucks
Anyone on here also a member over at the 60-66 GMC Truck Club?
I haven't been able to get onto that site for about 4 or 5 days now.

Re: 60-66 GMC Trucks
Both of his sites appear top be up at the moment. Not sure about logging into the board since I don't have an account there, but I was able to roam thru some threads.

Re: 60-66 GMC Trucks
After a long wait, I finally was able to see the page too. First time in days. But I still could not log in and could not even browse. Was the speed normal for you over there?
I've even tried it through 3 different servers.

Re: 60-66 GMC Trucks
It seemed alright to me. What web browser are you using?

Re: 60-66 GMC Trucks
The only one that works at all is Chrome. I just tried it again and after a long wait, it finally showed the page, but also stated:
"The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later." Also, it's the only site I'm having any trouble with. I'm a member of a bunch of others and they all work fine.

Re: 60-66 GMC Trucks
I tried to register yesterday and couldn't get it done, they won't accept our email address. It works fine for everything else, can't get them to respond back, right now I'm dead in the water. Any suggestions?

Re: 60-66 GMC Trucks
Even though Bill is not having trouble, I believe there is something wrong with the site. Hopefully it will get fixed in time.

Re: 60-66 GMC Trucks
I am currently using the Firefox web browser. With the error you got , that tells me they are doing some work on their web site servers. I just tried it with Chrome and it runs very quick for me on both. Again, I am not logged in as a user, just a guest. Not sure whether that makes a difference or not.
You may want to try and clear the history on your browser and the SSL state. They may have made some changes to thier site, and it's in conflict to what your browser has saved about it.

Re: 60-66 GMC Trucks
I tried again yesterday to register but again I failed, they keep saying they won't accept my email address because of spam concerns. I've never had any issues with this, no way to get through to 6066. I want to see all the build pics of Donnys 1962 red 6500 dump truck, didn't think it was going to be such a problem.

Re: 60-66 GMC Trucks
Still having problems here too. As like most times when trying, I got another one of those 404 error pages.
Donny's '62 6500 will be sure worth the wait. It's just about the nicest one anywhere. When ever the site gets back to normal, I'll let you know.

Re: 60-66 GMC Trucks
Just tried it again through 3 different web browsers. Got 2 blank pages and one "Server is too busy again". Then got the 404 error page.
Strange as every single other site I belong to works fine. I even decided to go through Jolly's GMC site. Got on there just fine, I can click onto anything I want there and it all works fine, but when I click onto "Discussions", same thing, no go. I've been a member over there for years and everything was fine till about a week ago. If anyone who is getting through with no problems could contact them for us, we sure would appreciate it.

Re: 60-66 GMC Trucks
You might want to try clearing your cookies and history in your internet browser, retype the website address in the browser address bar, then log-in again. Also, here is a recent forum post from the site administrator on January 21 which might explain some of the issues:
Dear Members, TLDR; The web is evolving to HTTPS. We are preparing for this. Note the green padlock in your address bar, and we apologize for the growing pains over the next few days. Report any bugs you find. What: Over the next few days our forum will be forced to move to what is known as a "secure" website. While this has nothing to do with actual security, it does mean that all of our pages will be encrypted and sent to your browsers via the HTTPS protocol as will soon be required by Google Chrome and Firefox. Why: Some say this is a response by the browser creators to the NSA's spying on any trivial internet activity, while others (myself included) think this is simply a way to force-sell expensive product to the broader web and increase their bottom line. When: We have already begun the transition. We have purchased all of the required certificates and software and made several changes to insure compatibility. Over the next 2-4 days we will be ironing out bugs and transitioning the ad serving system as well. This is the reason for the exclamation mark over our current padlock in your address bar. Our goal is 100% compliance by 1:00 AM Saturday. What this means to you: The 60-66 GMC Club will be online and compatible with the three major dictatorships browsers for many years to come, preserving the history of the greatest truck ever created. There will also be a new, pretty green padlock in your browser address bar to show to your friends. The website will be up and down several times during the week as we test compatibility and install these upgrades. Please report any inconsistencies or page load problems you encounter via PM and I will step on them with aggressive size 7 stilettos. Have a great day! -Jeannie 6066 GMC Club |
