1972 swb cheyenne
I'd love to know what you experts think this truck is worth? I have the original motor, but it likely needs rebuilt. I also have a ton of new parts that I could include, but I'm wondering what the basic truck and original motor is worth as is. The white powder is baking soda that the previous owner poured all over.

I agree, but you haven't seen my current collection of projects. The 67 is my dream truck (and color), so something needs to find a new home.

Re: 1972 swb cheyenne
I can see that this thread didn't turn out like I thought it would, so let's try this another way. I think this truck is worth $8,000 as is, throw a crate motor in it, clean up, and it's a $12,000 truck on ebay. I plan to keep it for a while, so I'm in no hurry to find it a new home.

Re: 1972 swb cheyenne
That sounds like a great plan , I would like to find trucks that nice for cheap money but it aint gonna happen . Im looking at a short stepper in nowhere near that condition at $3000 and Im going for it when I can . Its a 6 cylinder 3 on the tree 70 with some rust issues so to me yours is way ahead of the one Im looking at .

Re: 1972 swb cheyenne
I'm not looking to sell it, just wanted to confirm what I was thinking. I paid very close to $8k for the truck. The previous owner was very aware of what he had and it's current value.

Re: 1972 swb cheyenne
How is the sheet metal? Any rust? I see the passenger door has been replaced as it's not a 72. Also, I've never seen a Cheyenne without the cargo light.

Re: 1972 swb cheyenne
She has a tiny hole in the drivers rocker, but other than that she's really solid. I'm thrilled with my find, but I'm not sure what to do with my 67 now. I don't need two c10s.

Re: 1972 swb cheyenne
After being distracted by other projects most of the year, I'm finally getting some work down on this truck. The gm crate motor is almost ready to fire and I just finished the 4/6 early drop.

Re: 1972 swb cheyenne
Wow, that truck really cleaned up nicely. I'd say you're pushing the $12k value and maybe even $15k to the right person.
