Alternates to stock radio antenna
I would prefer not to put a hole in my front fender to mount a stock style antenna. What are you using and how well does it work?

Re: Alternates to stock radio antenna
You can do like i did with another truck I had. I hooked up an antenna and laid it on the dash. I covered it up with a dash cover to hide it.

Re: Alternates to stock radio antenna
another option that's been used with success by other members is mounting it under the truck behind the running boards..

Re: Alternates to stock radio antenna
There are hidden antenna kits out there. It's just a small pod that you can attach with sticky back tape under the dash, behind the seat, wherever suits you.
Crutchfield, Retro Autosound, Dakota Digital, and Mr. Gasket have them. |

Re: Alternates to stock radio antenna
The reviews are all over the map on crutchfield, some say they work great, others say not so much. For 25 bucks it's probably worth the gamble.

Re: Alternates to stock radio antenna
I saw a truck that the Owner mounted the Antenna under his Running Board. I have a Hidden one in my S10 and it has a Limited range plus it's directional. It is one of those Stick ones, my Harley has a hidden one in the Fairing it's a Ribbon Style and does better than My S10.

Re: Alternates to stock radio antenna
Alot of new cars don't even have conventional antennas anymore. My truck has a pod mounted to the rearview mirror. My wifes car has it on the back side window, it almost looks like defrost strips.

Re: Alternates to stock radio antenna
Thanks guys, I rolled the dice on a "tune trapper". They had good reviews on several street rodder forums, we shall see...
