Gas Pedal Options
I have given up trying to find a 71 - 72 C10 gas pedal for my 64. They just are not out there.
What have other folks used instead? Lokar perhaps? Some other brand? I have a Lokar cable but have not installed yet. Thanks for the help. |

73-87 should be same pedal/linkage setup as the 71-72. That may give you some more options.

I think the Corvette gas pedal assy Rocknrod posted would be your best bet. I ended up using a pedal assy from a 75 Pontiac but had to heat & bend it to make it fit properly then used the plastic pedal from a 73 or so Nova.
Here's what I started with a brake pedal from a 73 C-10 and a gas pedal assy from a 75? Pontac. Here's what I ended up with after I heated & bent the Pontiac gas pedal & added the Nova gas pedal. You can see my heat & bend areas on the gas pedal if you look closely. Next up is the stainless pedal trim used on GM cars from around 69 to 74. After that I'm getting rid of the E brake pull handle assy and adding a floor E brake assy from a 72 Caddy. Last edited by 64shortbox; 02-18-2018 at 09:42 PM. Reason: Add Pictures |

On my 1966 GMC 2500 2wd I used a 73-87 assembly to replace the floor mounted pedal with rod linkage.
The 73-87 pedal is attached to a larger bracket assembly. I trimmed off everything but the pedal mount.

I used one from a '95 C-1500. I had to bent the arm where the cable attaches a little, and i welded a small segment of tubing onto the pedal end to form a curved shoe that the stock floor mounted pedal could ride on without binding. It's worked pretty well for over a year now.

I just bought a 98-2003 s10/blazer gas pedal off ebay for 15 bucks. Haven't mounted it yet but from just holding it up to the firewall in my 65' it looks to me like it will fit like it was made for the truck. I will post some pics this week when i get it finished up
