It may be a Jer-dan . I dont think it a Holmes , but both companys are from that era .

Yeah, Holmes was the biggest name, most used. But the one you show isn't a Holmes, as you can see. The Wreckermaster booms are trussed steel tube. That one shown could very well be made from a car or truck frame, if not a manufactured product.
If you have a C/10 and just want to mock up a tow truck look it would be a simple thing to fabricate. You could make a cover for the winch that you wouldn't need to buy. Or hide a little electric winch just to raise and lower the cable for kicks

I met a guy who had one of the "Slide-Ins" in his 1/2 Ton pick-up many years ago. He told me that he was illegal as it was overweight already, even without a car on the back.
That said, I always thought they were pretty cool, but only on a 3/4-Ton with heavy springs or 1-Ton pick-up only.

A 440 model Holmes isn't the "slide in" type iirc. It is a complete wrecker boom/bed meant for 1ton dually trucks.

Just fab or have fabbed (partial of both) something up like I pictured. No point in paying for a Holmes unit to just look at it. The tower and booms are simple construction. I think it's a cool idea. You specifying "C/10 wreckers" in your question got us going. It would be the same unit for your C/10 that would have been used in actual C/20 and C/30 pickup wreckers.

Wording was my fault ! haha I guess I should have specified. Definitely not going to pay what people want for a holmes unit. Especially since I don't have the proper truck for it to go on lol When things get rolling I'll make sure I start the proper build thread.

I can recall at least two 1/2 ton wrecker booms,,, They were both used exclusively for removing motors from wrecks ,,

I think K is right. between that weird licence plate and the funny arrows on the street I'm betting European. If its functional then that too suggests European as those are little cars and tires rated to carry that load. they're funny too.

Yep, the 220! That's what Miller Brothers Chevrolet had in their pickup wrecker. I figure that is what is shown in the other picture shown as well. Lots of those pickups got their beds tail end bobbed

So what are the Holmes model differences between the trusses tube boom type and the boxed steel? Was it a change between years or a different line with different model #?

The 480 & 500 only had the web booms . The 600 & 750 had web booms standard equipment with the square extendable ( X7 option I think ) as an option .
