How to spend $60,000
Found this on e-bay. Claims to have spent $60,000 on the truck. Everything under the truck is chrome, except the bet up tin transmission pan. Too bad he got red overspray on the hoses in the engine compartment. His reserve is set at $36,000. Think he'll get it?

Cool blazer, but come on who the hell would spend that much. Most us Blazer owners are just gettin by. If we could afford that this would be a Hummer Board.

I've seen total frame off restorations that look just as good as that and go for 15 thou. I wonder who did the work.... the government That's the only way I could see spending 60 grand on that truck. Don't get me wrong, it's a really nice truck, just don't think it's worth what he's asking. We all know you don't always get out what you put in!

There is no way that is a frame-off resto. It looks nice on the surface, but if you look close in the photos, it has issues. The t-case looks like an NP208 and something is leaking under the truck. If you have to point out that the dash was painted to match the exterior, it makes me wonder if anything was stripped off before painting.

Is he missing his A/C compressor? That looks like an A/C heater box, but the alternator is on the passenger side where the AC ought to be isn't it?
The biggest problem isn't that he spent $60k on the truck. It's that it doesn't LOOK like he spent $60k on the truck! Brian |

A couple of things bug me about it: (from the point of view of calling it a show truck)
1. Tailgate lettering isn't painted, I know it's a custom not a restoration but if you don't want to paint the lettering why not shave it. 2. Bad alignment on the hood (look at the back of the hood) 3. Switched to floor shift but didn't change out the column shift??? 4. Got paint on the VIN plate, that makes it look like a splash job to me. 5. Yuck, I don't like the switches on the bottom of the dash. 6. The slightly scruffy looking painted master cylinder. 7. Rust on some of the chrome bits underneath (maybe it's grease) That said it still is a nice truck, but like somebody else said it doesn't look like a $60000 truck nor does it look like a show truck. Ron (being a picky dick)

he must be asking that much for it because it has Tow Hooks...
With all seriousness, it is very true what most of you have said for 60,000 dollars he did screw up some minor but very noticable details that are gonna make people question everything...lets be honest too...anyone who can spend what his reserve is...well is probably looking at a whole other type of vehicle...

Its a nice rig not for that price.I put pain less wireing in a 74 blazer for a costomer and he said he had 80,000 in the truck i asked him if he was on drugs, most of the money was spent on laror from different shops, but it was a nice rig, with a 25,000 engine that didnt run right.

All that and it doesn't even have a Tach. Couldnt even imagine what my 2WD would look like if I spent that much.

I would at least like correct doors on the truck for that kind of money. He has a '69-'71 door on the driver's side (no recessed dimple/screw for the vent window) and it looks like in one of the pictures that he has a correct door on the passenger side. I would hope for a $36,000 reserve that the doors would at least match.

Argh...what an idiot. If you even bother to read the actual auction itself, it is very vague, especially for something he claims is worth $60k (which I have a hard time believing).

Also, those aren't stock 67-72 tow hooks...they're the $10 auto parts store cheapies. Where are the emblems and the rear chrome strip on the tailgate? I guess I'm splitting hairs, but c'mon...need to write the auction decsription a little better than that. And it needs to actually be worth $60k, too.

I like the painted a/c hoses, adds a nice touch.Don't forget the bolted on axle truss/skid plate combo so you can "terrorize your town"without damaging your rears!I do like the color though.
