Lonestar Throwdown anyone?
So I debated back and forth several times because of the potential for heavy rain and also taking a Saturday off from my furniture business during tax refund season (when its Christmas in the ghetto), to make the 7 hour round trip ride to go see whats all the hub bub about the Lonestar throwdown, in Conroe, Texas. Well worth the trip for sure, I saw several members trucks from the forum, and they look even better in person. One of the cool things about seeing so many I was able to narrow my favorite color choices for my 72 project. I also got a bunch of great interior ideas as well. Once I re-learn how to post a picture again I will share some of my personal highlights. How about a roll call of board members who were there also?

Re: Lonestar Throwdown anyone?
I went at 8:00 am Saturday morning. I happened to be south of Houston for work on Friday and finished early so I went to south Houston to help a friend put his truck back together. He had a full respray done last week to be ready for the show.
I ran through the show in about 2 hours looking at mostly 67-72 trucks and vendors and I was gone by 9:45 because I needed to be home. It was great to see the variety of styles and different quality of builds. While my truck might be a steel wheeled, stock height, longbed, I came away appreciating how clean and well sorted it is....ha. I think my favorite things were seeing the C30 camper in person and the Turbo Diesel bare metal C10 with the turbo and the exhaust poking through the hood. I bought an umbrella on the way there because it was pouring and got there and didn't really need it. |

I was there from about 9-11 am. Pretty muddy but got to see a lot of sweet ride out there. Made the trip also to pick up my new 20” Billet Specialties Vintecs. So yes it was a good trip! A few of my favorites!
