1971 c10 gauge cluster

I have a basic gauge package in my 71 c10 being speedo and fuel and in the center two idiot lights with turn indicators. I bought a used gauge cluster out of A 72 c10 super cheyanne that also has temp oil pressure and volts. My question is will my wiring that went to the basic gauges work on the better gauge package?

You will need to modify the wiring at the connector

Also check out this thread. It will explain how to change the terminals from one location to the next in the connector.

Everything you need is there minus the wiring for the amp gauge which is terminal 1 and 12 in the connector.

I offer volt gauge conversions as well which eliminate the amp gauge and the need for amp gauge wiring.

I have also done away with the voltage regulator and converted to a 1 wire alternator which is not even running to the current idiot light. That will have to be sorted.

The one-wire alternator will not work the idiot light which has to be connected to the white wire from the external voltage regulator and then to the alternator.

The ammeter or the voltmeter will work with the one-wire alternator if they are correctly wired into the harness.
