Shoulder Belts
Been looking for some 3 point set belts for my 68, anyone have any experience with the classic industries retractable seat belts with shoulder belt? They are the cheapest.

Re: Shoulder Belts
Nick, I just ordered a set of these. I like the GM buckles the best. They look like something GM might have offered back in the day. I think the Classic Industries 3 point belts just have generic receptors on them.

Nick, I don't know anything about the Classic belts you're looking at, nor do I know their cost. But I think you'd be happy with belts from Tom (link posted above).

Re: Shoulder Belts
LMC has belts at pretty much the same price, the only differences would be the buckle design and perhaps shipping costs. Personally, I like the buckle design on the Classic Industries versions but the LMC versions look more GM-ish.

Re: Shoulder Belts
Don't recall exactly where I got mine, but they bolted right up. My truck is a '72 and already had the shoulder strap mount there, just had to pull the cover off. Only issue I had was the retractable belt fitting next to the gas tank and seat, just had to turn it toward the door frame. I'm happy with them, feels much safer, despite still having the low back seat...

Re: Shoulder Belts
I just received and installed a set from LMC. Don't care for them at all. They are generic and do not include the driver side bracket necessary to avoid interference with the gas tank. I installed them not knowing there was a better setup out there so I'm stuck with them. Fool me once.

Re: Shoulder Belts
I'm also using the Morris belts. Recommend them as well. Good luck with your selection.

Re: Shoulder Belts
I ended up getting a set from seatbelts plus. I paid $239 shipped. They look nice and they are vehicle specific so they bolted right on, no modification needed. The only thing I don’t like is to put them on you have to pull them really slow or they will lock up. Thanks for all the info guys.

Re: Shoulder Belts
I have the seatbelts plus as well. They seem fine to me. I do think all the aftermarket ones have to be put on a little slower, but I figure they do that to be sure they will work when you need them to.
I don't have a center seat belt, but I do want to get one. Anybody know offhand what length I'd need? |
