Battery Tray Rust... - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

What have sum of you done to keep the rust from returning to your Battery Tray's? I have signs of rust appearing in the corner of my tray when I took my Battery out today. Any removal tips for me as how to best keep it from returning again?

Any help would be great.

POR 15 bud. I just got some and am gonna cover my battery box in it

Yeah, what he said...plus run a gel cell battery to keep it from happening again.

Are you running a Optima efi? I was thinking of getting one of those when I need my next battery. Was just curious if they are any good.

POR-15 is absolutely AWESOME stuff! I did the entire frame, inside and out, as well as a lot of other places on my Chevelle with it and it's simply incredible. I used a few quarts and it's probably the best investment I made in the car. It's hard as a rock, nice satin sheen, and (if thinned correctly) it sprays or brushes on easily. Highly recommended!
