Re: Porterbuilt Control Arms & Bumpstops
Are you talking the upper or lower arms?
My bagged and extreme static dropped trucks have the bumpstops removed.

Re: Porterbuilt Control Arms & Bumpstops
I'm not particular which arms functions as the "stop" mechanism but it appears the lower arm bottoming against a stop attached to the cross member would be easiest. Just looking for ideas on how others have achieved this.
What i am trying to achieve is to set my full dump motion to dead-head against a hard stop in case of sudden/catastrophic air loss and not put the front tire into the stock GM inner fenders resulting in bad outcomes. Last edited by Willie Makeit; 03-06-2018 at 05:30 PM. |

Re: Porterbuilt Control Arms & Bumpstops
It would be easiest to build a bump stop bracket off the crossmember spring pocket. Then attach a rubber stop to make contact with the lower control arm.
Energy Suspension sells many different sizes.

Before the PB arms I had such a stop in place. it was attached with one of the bolts that held the air bag upper bracket in place and it contacted the OEM stock arm on the flat where the OEM bump stop once resided. That's not possible with the PB arms due to how they are constructed, thus my inquiry of what others have done. thanks for the feedback! |
