problem with tailights staying on all the time Help !
I have done a frame off restoration of a 67 shortbed truck, the cab and all wiring came from my 67 and was put onto a 71 frame. Everything worked fine before. My problem is that when I put lightbulbs in the tailights they light up ,no matter if the switch is on or not. The backup lights work fine also the blinkers work but the lights stay on no matter if I have the headlights on or not. I have new wiring from the firewall back to the tailights. When I check the wire with a circut tester I have 2 wires that are hot all the time (vertical pair) all the way from the dash to the tailights. I have replaced the light switch with a new one and it didn't change anything. The flashers do not work .they light up but don't blink. Any suggestions as to what to look for would be nice ,I want to drive it !

could be your brake light switch is in need of adjustment, the one behind the brake pedal. just a guess. try adjusting it back until it no longer touchec the pedal arm and see if the lights go off.
