Help with Van Tilt Needed

I picked a Van tilt up for 30 dollars yesterday. I was wondering how hard are they to make fit ? Can I just cut the wire's and put the original plug from my 72 on the van coloum ? The tilt coloum from the van is missing the gear pointer and fiber optic light does anyone know where to get a new one ? Oh and one last thing the bearing seemes loose. Can I get a new one at Gm ?

Thanks's.

Gm (delco) still makes a adapter harness to go from van tilt flat to 68-72 round plug.Part #1894851 it's about $6-$7. Some of the venders on this board and LMC sell the tilt pointer for about $6.
I don't think there is a fiber optic on van tilts I think it is bulb lighted but I could be wrong on that.

Talking

The van tilt uses a bulb and the single gray wire that is along side the TS wires should be hooked up to the dash lights. The vendors will have the bearings.

Here is a site link for installing help. Click on tech articles.

The van tilt has a bulb andd you will allso need to put the N.S.W.(Neutral Safety Switch)farther down the colum .This is pretty easy you need to decide which switch u want to use the van is alittle different as to how it hooks to the colum for your reverse light's.You basically need to make the same window as it is originally just a little farther down the colum.Hope I helped and not totally confused u

No...on your fuse box there is a male terminal labled lights...or something like that. It is only powered when you turn on the parking lights or headlights. Plug it into that terminal.
