ptc New Project - Mini Me!
Ok so funny story kinda that I was the perpetrator of but ended up with the bill at the end....
At the Autorama show this year my son comes out with my grandson to show the little guy the cars and everything. Hes only 4 but loves cars already and dinosaurs! - So with Papas truck out there he just had to be there. SO... we went insided to see all the 'show cars' and the little guy just had to want to touch everything... all the rope barriers had to become swing sets and pulling cords to try and see how far he could drag them along.... My son was constantly saying no...no...no...no and Im just laughing my butt off as I had been through all this before.... with HIM! --- So Im just explaining to him all about "PAYBACK" --- Papa was having a great time watching all this, trying to corral him too (a little bit) by keeping his little eyes and gaze away from the "VENDORS" with all the candy and jerky and food and stuff to get his little hands on and get ourselves buying something we didn't need.... Anyway we finally get through a couple of the buildings and go for some lunch - a couple corndogs and some fries and we r good to GO! --- Out of the corner of my eye I see this truck with all kinds of toys hanging from it and they are all model cars and trucks of every kind. So I say to my son, "Hey lets go take a look at all THE TOYS over there when we get done eating".... just kinda stirring the pot.... and he just gives me a stink-eye knowing that a 4-year-old is going to have TOY-OVERLOAD around all that stuff.... So we go over there and kids everywhere, grabbing for this and that and I take a gander at some nice chevy truck die-cast models.... and start looking for my truck in the mix.... totally lost the son and grandson, the little guy was frothing at the mouth looking at some big trucks - as I found a 57 model truck that was the wrong color but I figure I can fix that.... Here comes my little one with his arms wrapped around this semi truck that turns into some kinda transformer or something.... and my son staring me down.... So I ask the gal there how much for MY TRUCK.... ? she says $20 and I say ok Ill take it.... and my son says how much for the kids truck? - shes says oh that ones $25.... We start walking away and the little guy is still glued to the truck box he had.... and I tell my son "are you gonna buy that?" he says "I thought you just did" ---- I look at the girl and she says "OH yea I put them all together!!!" JOKES ON GRANPA!!!!! oh well - it kept him busy for a long while and kept his hand OFF THE SHOW CARS!!! hahahaha. So my project is a 1/25 scale model of a 1957 Task Force Truck... Gonna Turn it Into a replica of my own truck..... 1. change the big window to small 2. paint the engine and revise it 3. paint the interior 4. change the wheels and tires 5. change the color to white

Re: ptc New Project - Mini Me!
Thats a good idea to paint up the model. Last year I got my daughter (3 years old) a diecast 59 corvette because she loved riding in my "race car". She always called it the race car. My car was blue and the model is black but she didn't mind. I never thought of painting it before. Now I am thinking
Good work keeping that younger generation into the old trucks.

Re: ptc New Project - Mini Me!
Got most of it all redone, made it a small window truck with some bondo! and then ready for paint and then painted the parts all up --- Its ready for re-assembly now.
I found this modeling guy online and he makes custom wheels for all different sizes and types of models. I sent him pics of my truck and wheels and he made me a custom set !!! Wheels and tires.... exact match. Yes this is a much CHEAPER way to build all the way around!!!!
