1965 K10 Long Fleetside Restoration
Began our restoration of a 1965 K10 a few weeks ago. We are in the tear down stage. I'll document as much as I can as we move along. Thanks to Captainfab, aotte1 and a couple others for their previous build threads. My son and I are in a huge learning curve and enjoying it! So, here are a few pics. Truck has a dealer installed winch on the front and a heavy duty rear bumper. The truck has 63,000 original miles. Has a 292 with 4 speed tranny. Its been sitting for more than 20 years. My father-in-law recently gave it to me and my boys. And here we go!

Rear bumper was removed and then the bed was removed. The factory original spare tire has never been removed.

Now onto the front. The winch and bumper cam off first, then onto the fenders and front end. The truck is still outside the shop. Working on clearing a little more space, then the hood and inner fenders will come off.

That bumper has a steel box holding the winch. Pretty heavy! The sledge hammer was used by my 14yr old son to knock out all the wood. And he got'r done!
