Updates and Emblem question
So I took a trip to my new favorite place. The only junkyard in my area that will let you walk the yard. Got a gauge cluster out of a 70 dump truck, a set of do-ray cab lights off a 65 GMC dump truck, and a light blue hood that was painted black of a 69 or 70 c10. So I'm making progress, plus I got a new gas tank installed but I need to get an adapter for the old fuel line to hood into the new tank since the fitting on the tank it bigger than on the original, and I finally ordered my wiring harness, just waiting on it to arrive My question for the emblem though is does anyone know if you can get just the insert for the bowtie hood emblem. I've been looking for a while now but it seems that all I can find are full emblems. I honestly just want a new plastic insert, my truck is going to be a driver. I think new emblems would just be to flashy. I'm even looking at buying used covers for the do-ray cab lights because I think the new chrome covers would look out of place on my now multi colored truck. I am definitely going back to that junk yard. They have they posi rear I need for my truck, possibly a good bed, and multiple cars I might try to pull out to restore and sell. Also not giving up a sure thing to everyone (sorry, not telling where I'm getting everything, will once my truck is back on the road).

Re: Updates and Emblem question
Pics, just the old covers for the new to me cab lights glass amber lenses were soaking so I could clean them. I will post a pic of them and the hood that's currently sitting on the truck because I need to rust spots fixed before I can bolt it to the truck. Renaming from blue knight to misfit toy. For all the different parts from the different trucks I've gotten stuff off of. I think it fits. Plus the fact that it was kinda a misfit on the lot I got it from. There was only one other truck like it.

Re: Updates and Emblem question
I believe all you can buy is the entire emblem.
If it makes you feel better my truck has major parts off of 8 different trucks. Minor parts off of who knows how many trucks. |

Re: Updates and Emblem question
Thanks. Here's pics of the old hood off the new one on and the cab lights with the glass lenses in them. I think they turned out nice for what they are.

Nice work Stephen. It’s nice to see the mountain in the background, I’ll be back home again in another month or so. Your truck is coming together nice!

Re: Updates and Emblem question
Thanks. Spent the morning sanding and priming my cowl. Sanding out a coupe of runs and putting it back on my truck in an hour or so.

Re: Updates and Emblem question
Lol Thanks. Here's pics from today, first one is when I got finished with the hood last night (pic taken today), and the second pic is when I got done with the right drivers side (4 hours after the first pic was taken). I found out that that was a 1'x1' section a ½" thick of body filler on the hood where it got dented and that was the Po's fix before he painted his light blue truck black. Prime the hood to keep it from rusting until I have my mechanic fix the dent and few rust spots. Found about 12 pinholes in the hood to go along with the big rust spots on the hood. Glad one of the mechanics in the shop has done metal fabrication most of his life (and is a certified welder), should be able to fix it right. And then I can prime it and bolt it to the truck. Still waiting on wirkng harness.
