Starter motor help
Ive got a 400 cui small block with th350 in my 68 c10. On the block it has 3 bolt holes for the starter. Ive got a new starter to match the one already fitted. Its a inline bolt one not staggered holes with 11 teeth and the old one had 9.. does anyone no if this would be correct or was the old one incorrect aswell. Ive only just got the truck and the starter was spinning out and not engaging everytime.. ring gear is in good condition..

Re: Starter motor help
The starter is dependent on which flexplate you have, 153 or 168, which is driven by your torque converter bolt pattern. The starter for 153 is inline while 168 is staggered.
