Vent door seal

I need a new seal for the driver's side vent door that is located in the kick panel. The door works properly, but the seal is crumbling. I looked at Brother's, and found only the whole door. I could not find anything at LMC. Does anyone know of a source?

I just cut my own out of an inner tube. Probably not "correct" but function is good and it's cheap.

At this point I'm going to give a BIG thumbs up to Classic Heartbeat.

I made an order thru them, and an order thru Brothers at about the same time. Classic Heartbeat is farther away from me than Brothers, but they got the order to me faster, and cheaper than Brothers did. The Classic Heartbeat box was probably 5x the size of the Brothers box yet shipping was significantly cheaper. Probably because Brothers pads their "cheap" prices with extra shipping and handling charges. ��

Also, the Brothers order came in wrong. Now over a month later the correct part they said they shipped has still not arrived. ��

I went through the trouble of replacing my vent window seal only to find out that the seal was too thick to close correctly. They dont cost much, but it was very time consuming and a waste. If I were you, I would only take a suggestion from someone who has actually done it; no offense to the vendors out there.

Mine were recently replaced for the blue blazer build - I haven't confirmed fitment yet but the seals didn't strike me as off much in terms of thickness.

I located my vent seals at classicparts and mine were I think a little thicker, hard to tell when the originals were nonexistent, but they serve their purpose and I can close mine to where no air leaks through.

That's a interesting discussion about the seals on page s 2 and 3. I had a similar problem and was too upset to contact the vendor to resolve the issue. Maybe its a character fault of mine, but sometimes I just want things to work/fit like they're suppose to. just thinking about it now gets me . At some point in the future I'll have to tackle it again...

Finally found the material for the in cab air vents. I did this because I could not find a “full” piece, the material is G. M. certified for gaskets, I WANT IT THE WAY THE FACTORY MADE IT, not with the middle cut out, the way all aftermarket are made! Bought enough to make lots of gaskets. In the next week or so will make one and fit it to see how it works.

Just sandblasted mine. Let us know how you come out with your gaskets.

Are the seals from Classic Industries coming with the center cut out now? The ones I got in May of 2017 were not.

I haven't bought any new ones since I returned the ones I had but, I have heard they fixed the problem. You may still be able to return the ones that were mis-manufactured. Precision Rubber was doing what they could to make things right for me.

60-66 seals have the middle cut out, 67-72 seals are sold full piece it seems, and the material is just like a foam, not even rubber. I think I have a 67-72 vent door can use as a pattern, also, I need better weather so I can pull truck out to get to it.

innertube will last linger and probably seal just as well.
