Heres some pics - 1971 GMC long bed project
So I am bad with posting much...
Here are after pics of my winter home garage work on a 71 GMC that was imported from Palm Deset, CA to Calgary, AB. 64K original miles , factory tach, factory toolbox in bed, 350, 4BBL, 4 spd. I added all the factory trim and left the original paint but wet sanded/and cleared it. I am picking up hounds tooth interior kit and drip rail chrome, and CPP brake booster kit at the Alberta/Montana border later this week. This is going to be a rolling shop advertisement truck for my hobby shop, Rat Rod Garage, where I do repairs for neighbors on the side.. This will be my 4th 67-72 project - I love these trucks!!!!! Re: Heres some pics - 1971 GMC long bed project
I had a typo, I meant to say I am bad with posting progress pics...
I am looking for feedback from anyone that has used the CPP (Classic Performance Products) 67-72 Vacuum brake booster kit to see if it fit well or tips and tricks for install.... I added front /rear chrome bumbers, emblems, Electronic ignition, rallies/BFG tires, all the mechanical maintenance items, new dash knobs, and a many other small items. I am also interested in feedback on the Customer Auto Sound slide bar radio that would fit in the original dash opening also. thank you. |

Fixed it. Truck looks good. I can't help much with the questions though. There was an Autosound radio in my '72 Dually when I got it. Seems to work OK but I don't use it much..... LockDoc

I put that CPP Booster on my '68, no problems, just bolt on and connect

Nice looking truck.
I'm working a 72 Chevy C10 LB that I recently picked up. This will be my 3rd 67-72 body style.

I think you will be happier if you go with a Retro Sound radio. I started to go with Slide Bar but they shipped it to me with missing parts. Actual radio looked cheaper than pictures of it. Retro Sound installs easier and is more adaptable to dash. My Retro Sound performs great.
