62 Differential Options?

Will a standard 1956-1962 Chevy Corvette/Impala/Belair Differential fit in a 62 C10?

The carrier in my 62 is messed up, and with the 2004R trany I put in it could use a little taller gearing ( did I get that right).
The gearing for the 200-4R is:
First - 2.7405404:1
Second - 1.567567:1
Third - 1.00:1
Fourth - 0.673913:1
Reverse - 2.07:1
Anyway 4.11 56 to 62 Corvette/Impala/Belair differentials like this seem to be fairly common, so was wondering if they would fit?

Re: 62 Differential Options?

No the '65-'62 car third member will not fit the Eaton HO32/33 housing. I would think your current gears should be 3.90's. That is the most common ratio in the Eaton HO32/33. The only other option is a set of after market 3.38 gears which will set you back about $350. Then you will need bearings and seals. This is why I typically recommend switching to a truck 12 bolt.

Re: 62 Differential Options?

Thanks, looks like the search is on for a 64 to 70 12 Bolt, and a better welder.
