Brake pedal return spring?
I recently did a 73-87 front K swap into a 65 c10. I made a mount for the power brake booster (purchased new). I had a piece machined for an adaptor to use a stock booster that then allows the stock brake pedal adjuster to thread on. The brakes work great but the pedal will not return after pressing them, leaving the brakes dragging. I’m using all the stock 65 pedal assembly.
For anyone who has done a similar swap did you have to add a return spring to the pedal? Seems simple enough but wanted to see what majority did and make sure I’m not missing anything/have another issue. Thanks in advance! Posted via Mobile Device |

Did you check to make sure nothing is on a bind?

Re: Brake pedal return spring?
When this happened to me it was because I over-tightened the booster rod at the pedal. I loosened it up a little and the pedal returned with no issues.

Is the stock return spring not in place?

Re: Brake pedal return spring?
Rockenrod,
Love the photo of the booster assembly. Clarifies a few things for me. Did you drill the brake pedal clevis one inch lower on the pedal or is the brake rod still in the original position/hole? |

Re: Brake pedal return spring?
Yes it's drilled lower.
