Water Pump /PS question
I bought an aluminum water pump (from Church as I remember). I came to install it this weekend. The hole the power steering pump bracket bolts to is missing. This is the hole that you pass a bolt through and then put a locknut on the bolt between the pump and the engine block. What do other people do who have an aluminum pump ? Or have I got the only pump in the world missing the hole ?

Is that a short water pump that you got from Church?
The long water pumps are set up the way you describe but not the short ones. Jim |

I believe he only sold short pumps because that is what the 67-72 trucks came with. Nice pumps!

Jim, I agree it is a nice pump. Does yours have the hole for the bracket ?

I only sold the short pumps because it was the only one my supplier was having the sale on.
Bernie, Let me know if the pump you bought wont work for you. I will be glad to give you a refund on it.

I did some measuring. If a short pump is about 6 1/4 inches long and a long oump is about 7 1/2 inches long, then I need a long. My confusion was compounded when, thinking that I needed a short pump, I bought a bracket from Summit which I was assured was for a short pump, but was in fact for a long pump. Many thanks to everyone who replied and to Church for his kind offer.
