Question Transmission decipher Please

Does anyone know how to tell what transmission I have from these numbers.
19D060885 stamped on flat on passenger side near flywheel. I need a flywheel cover.
So far 1968 Step Side Chevy Truck
1972 Caprice 400 Engine
Now I need to know what transmission is in it.
Thanks

Re: Transmission decipher Please

It is a manual or auto?

If manual, post a picture of the side cover where the shift linkage is.
If its auto, post a picture of the pan from the bottom.

So I'm presuming since you are saying flywheel and not flexplate that the trans is a manual. I don't have a clue on the numbers but maybe someone else will. Is it a three speed, granny low 4 speed, column shift, floor shift. A little more info would be good.

Re: Transmission decipher Please

I went through this earlier this year. If you write down any casting numbers on the tranny and start googling them eventually you'll figure it out. That's how I did it. I tried yours, but came up with nothing.
