can someone post a pic of how the factory routed the green coolant temp wire. I have a bracket for it but not sure where it goes. thanks in advance for your help.

When you say bracket you mean a round clip to hold the wire in place.

The ones I've ever seen ran along the top of the intake along the valve cover bolts to the rear of the motor then up the fire wall to the gutter and over to the fuse block through the fire wall.

There is in fact a bracket. At least on the V-8's there is. The wire runs along the intake manifold as Andy said but it runs down over the front of the head and there is a bracket that fastens to the bottom water pump mounting bolt, then the wire goes under the #1 spark plug and back up to the temp sender. This is to keep it away from the exhaust manifold..... The bolt in the water pump is a special bolt that has a stud on the head so the bracket can be secured to it. There is also supposed to be a cloth type sheath over the wire to protect it from chaffing. I will see if I can get a picture in the morning.

I agree with Leon and Andy regarding routing. In addition, the wire was originally enclosed in a fabric loom from the harness to the sender. The loom was also, at least on my original '69 350, retained by 2 clips on the valve cover which can be seen in the 1st picture below. The 2nd picture shows the wire/loom passing through the water pump bracket.

I wondered what went on that bolt. Mine is installed on the other side of the pump at this point, but now I have an idea of what to do with it.
